Sony laptops use 4 different types of DC jacks. The
first jack has 3 legs and mounted on the motherboard and
we have it in stock at all times. The second, 3rd and
4th jacks have a cable that runs from the jack to the
board. Cable never goes bad, it just the jack that needs
to be replaced. So we replace the jack only without the
cables, it still requires desoldering and sodering a new
jack in. There is no extra charge for the models listed
below. .
Below are models that have the jack mounted onto the
motherboard. All other SONY jacks are connected to
cables. We replace the jacks below and we repair the
other type of SONY jacks too.

Most common issue with sony laptops is a plastic inner
pin breaking down and the positive connectors are
getting exposed like in the picture below.
Some sony laptops have 2 different models, some that
start with numbers that mean exactly the same with
letters. It all depends where the laptop was made
at.
Preparing to disassemble this Sony.
3 legged design is used in about 50% of all laptops.
Another sony model
This model uses a cabled dc jack design rather than the motherboard mounted one.
