Power Jack Repair provides same day power jack repair service for a flat rate fee of: $125 that includes everything: labor, a brand new DC power jack, complimentary shipping back to you via UPS, and a lifetime warranty. All work is done within 24 hours after receiving your laptop. We guarantee the quality of our work by a lifetime warranty, if you break your DC power jack ever again we will repair it at no extra charge. You can either mail your laptop in or if you are in the Chicago land area feel free to stop by and your DC power jack repair won't take more than 3-4 hours since there is more than 50 different types of DC jacks in stock at all times.

Mail your well packaged laptop with the AC adapter (we repair these at no extra charge) to the address below, your laptop will be repaired and sent back to you within 24 hours after we would receive it. Chicago land clients please note we are conveniently located 25 minutes away from downtown of Chicago.. We service your laptop at this location by appointment only, we guarantee that the power jack will be repaired within 3 hours. Any rules we should be aware of? Yes, the first one is if you don't include your AC adapter with the laptop you don't get any warranty or support from us. Second rule is badly packaged laptops will be sent back to the owner without being worked on. Make sure to wrap your laptop in at least 2 inches of bubble wrap, and put it in the box with plenty of cushion or fluffy stuff. Please note: free boxes provided by United States Postal Service provide inadequate protection for your laptop.

ATTENTION: HP ZV5000 ZV6000 ZV5000 ZX5000 ZX6000 Zx7000 & COMPAQ R3000 users please run the following test: 1) remove the battery from the laptop 2) plug in your AC adapter, try to wiggle the plug just right so it will power up 3) If the system would power up for at least 5-10 seconds while you hold the plug in a certain position then feel free to send it to us If the system won't power up at all, it is too late for these models since it becomes a motherboard (diode) issue.

We have multiple quantities of more than 50 different types of jacks in stock at all times, combined they cover 90% of all dc jacks that ever been put into laptop computers. If your laptop is a brand name laptop i.e. Toshiba, Sony, Compaq, HP, Acer, Asus etc.. we should have a dc power jack for it in stock. For the other 10% of jacks we can still find a solution

If we won't fix your DC power jack, nobody else will.

We have a "no fix - no charge policy". If your laptop still isn't working after the DC jack has been replaced we won't charge you any sort of diagnostic fee, bench fee, or any other miscellaneous fees for the job we did. We will just pack it up and send it back to you with your check.

If you bring your laptop over it will be fixed within 3-4 hours, make sure to call to schedule an appointment

If your power plug on the AC adapter seems to be faulty we will replace the power plug at no extra charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there any extra charges? There are no extra hidden fees or charges. If we don't fix it you don't pay anything.

How do we submit a payment? We prefer if you would enclose a check made out to Applicasoft for $125. If the return address is different from the one on the check please enclose a note that would say so. Alternatively you can pay by credit card through google checkout,  please print out a receipt and send it along with the laptop, or write down on the box that you already prepaid via google. For an extra fee of $5 you can pay via paypal by transferring money to: applicasoft@hotmail.com before or after the job is done. We will notify you once your laptop is fixed. If you bring you laptop over then the only method of payment would be cash after you would test that your computer is working fine.  You can submit a payment by clicking on one of the following buttons.  Google processes credit cards and paypal is only if you don't have a checkbook or a credit card.  We also accept cashier checks.

 

$125 total.  Please print a receipt and enclose with the laptop.

Warranty? We provide a lifetime warranty on all DC jacks that we replace. If you will ever break your jack again, we will replace it at no charge. We will only replace it once. You are covered by warranty for as long as you are using a factory AC power adapter, if you use any universal power adapters the warranty is void. That is the reason we ask everyone to send a factory power adapter with your laptop so that we could fix the plug on it if it is faulty, there is no charge for it. As of June 10th, 2007 we are the only business that offers a lifetime warranty on all DC jack replacements that we do.

Do you have all parts in stock? We have multiple quantities of more than 50 different types of DC jacks in stock at all times. Within the last year of operation there wasn't a single case where we would not have a jack for any of the laptops that we have serviced. The rule is simple, if we don't have a jack for your laptop, nobody else has it either, some Sony jacks are in limited supply.

How much is the shipping usually? To send a laptop via UPS is usually about $6.50-$15. If you ship your laptop to us we will ship the laptop back to you for free via UPSClients from Canada please use UPS ground to ship the laptop it runs at $20.

How long does it take to replace a DC power jack on my system? Average DC jack replacement job lasts about 3-4 hours. All work is done the same day since we have all of the dc jacks in stock.

What time are you open? You can bring you laptop over to Wheeling location at any reasonable time seven days a week (make sure to call in advance).

Do you repair or do you replace the power jack? We only replace power jacks, it is a more time consuming process than simply repairing a DC power jack but in a long run we don't have to deal with any warranty work..

I live in Chicago land can I drop off my laptop? Yes you can drop off your laptop at the Wheeling address 7 days a week, for maps look into contact us page. Please call in advance to make sure somebody is going to be there to meet you. Generally you would be able to pick it up within 3-4 hours..

Do you need a password to get into my system? No, we do not need any of your passwords

Do you need my hard drive? We don't need your hard drive. If you have a sensible information on it that you are worried about please remove it from your system. Please note all laptops that are property of the US government i.e. FBI, DOD, NSA, CIA even though you have a 128 bit encryption set on your machines, you are required to remove a hard drive before sending it to us.

Do I need to send an AC adapter? Yes, to test out your system we would prefer to have your AC DC power adapter, however if you are missing an AC DC adapter we still can work on it and test out your computer using our adapters. If your power plug adapter is broken, we will attempt to fix it at no extra charge.  Remeber, no AC adapter means no warranty. 

Are you liable for anything that will happen with my laptop? Not at all, replacing a dc jack on your laptop is extremely time consuming process. It usually takes about 2 hours just to get the old jack out of your motherboard without damaging the board or the tracers for your DC Jacks

What is the best way to pack a laptop for shipment? Put an inch or two of a bubble wrap around it, put it in the box, put an AC DC adapter near by, write out a check made out to Applicasoft (or you would be able to pay for it later by credit card through google checkout or Paypal).  As soon as we get it we will work on it and send it back to you the same day, if we also need to replace a plug on your AC adapter then it will delay the shipping back by one day.
